Description:

Happy Canada 150 to all! But is it really happy for all? Join us as we delve into a controversial conversation regarding the continued marginalization of First Nations peoples in Canada.

In this episode, we chat with Anangons Alita Johnson-Owl,  a recent graduate from the Faculty of Arts with a major in Sociology. Anangons identifies with her mother's community; Sagamok Anishnawbek, but her father also identifies as Cree and Swedish. She is inspired by Drew Hayden Taylor and at times she refers to herself as a "special occasion" to acknowledge her ancestry as Ojibwe and white.
