David Sampson, CEO of the American Property Casualty Insurance Association, sat down with Carrier Management Editor Mark Hollmer recently to talk about the new trade association, which formed on January 1, 2019 after the American Insurance Association and Property Casualty Insurers Association of America merged. Sampson said that the AIA board leadership contacted PCI initially in the summer of 2017 about forming a “more strategic alignment,” starting a process that formed a more muscular trade association to push the industry’s agenda on Capitol Hill. Discussions took place at the Insurance Information Institute Joint Industry Forum on Jan. 17.
