Tonight's special guest is Michael De Masi who is Director of Community Outreach for Amethyst Recovery Center and New England Recovery & Wellness in Concord, New Hampshire. Mike is coming on the show to talk about the current drug epidemic plaguing our nation and the ways firefighters and EMS can better serve their communities. Fire and EMS have seen an influx of drug overdoses affecting millions of people in many suburban communities. In Many cases, firefighters and EMS are involved in providing life-saving medication to some of the lucky ones. What can we as first responders do to better help these struggling people? We will also talk about the stress that these type of calls plays in firefighters daily lives. |
