	Description:		EMS Editor Mike McEvoy talks with Dr. Craig Manifold, a highly regarded EMS Medical Director from Texas about Compensatory Reserve Index. Developed for and by the military, CRI uses pulse oximtery to evaluate changes in the arterial pleth waveform and, with a proprietary algorithm, calculates a value ranging from zero to one. This patient specific value has correlated well to patient fluid volume status with values less than 0.3 suggesting decompensated shock has, or soon will, occur; values between 0.3 and 0.7 suggesting further assessment/treatment needed; and values greater than 0.7 suggesting normovolemia. The manufacturer, Flashback Technologies, expects FDA approval shortly. In this episode, @DrCraigManifold discusses CRI and its potential uses as a prehospital triage tool.
