Category: Business
Duration: 00:26:27
Publish Date: 2018-08-03 10:14:00
Description: The US economy added 157,000 jobs in June, 33,000 fewer than analysts expected. Constance Hunter, chief economist of KPMG in New York talks us through the latest figures. Also in the programme, Emmerson Mnangagwa has been confirmed as Zimbabwe's president. While the opposition is disputing the result, we hear about the prospects for foreign investment in the country from Busisa Moyo, head of Zimbabwean food manufacturer United Refineries. We have a report from Nicaragua on challenges to the country's tourism industry following recent violent confrontations between anti-government protesters and the security forces of President Daniel Ortega. Plus we look back at the rest of the week's big business stories with Hal Hudson, technology correspondent for The Economist, and Robin Wigglesworth of the Financial Times.
