Vickie who 'unschools' her daughter and Callie Vandewiele who was home educated in the US and is now completing her PhD at Cambridge University discuss the merits along with Dr Helen Lees, Reader in Alternative Education Studies at Newman University in Birmingham. Women's economic empowerment in the developing world comes at a cost, according to new research in India, Nepal, Rwanda and Tanzania carried out by the Institute of Development Studies. Deepta Chopra, Lead Researcher of the IDS report, joins Jane to discuss the global findings and the policy changes needed if global gender equality is to be achieved. Ahead of a weekend of Comic Con events around the country we speak to two women about their passion for comics and why the comic world is becoming far less male dominated.
