Duration: 00:09:00
Publish Date: 2013-10-01 03:00:00
Description: In 1963, a small group of black activists in Bristol in the UK started a pioneering protest against racism by the local bus company, which had specified that they did not want to employ black drivers. Inspired by the example of Martin Luther King, the boycott ended in victory and led to the passage of Britain's first anti-discrimination laws. Paul Stephenson talks about his part in the protest.
