 Bio: Steven C. Hayes is Nevada Foundation Professor in the Behavior Analysis program at the Department of Psychology at the University of Nevada. An author of 44 books and nearly 600 scientific articles, he has been at the forefront of developing Contextual Behavioral Science (CBS), a major offshoot or branch of behavior analysis. Grounded in the orienting assumptions of functional contextualism, CBS addresses human complexity using behavioral principles as augmented by relational framing and evolution science. CBS approaches have been shown to have very broad applicability across diverse areas of human difficult and human prosperity, and its international society exceeds 8,000 members, with 27 international chapters in 18 languages. A recipient of the Impact of Science on Application award from the Society for the Advancement of Behavior Analysis, and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapy, Google Scholar data ranks him as among the most cited scholars in the world.
