The Ultraviolet Index is a number from 0 to 11 that helps you decided whether you need to use sunscreen that day.  It is a complex number derived from satellite atmospheric data, weather conditions, and elevation of the particular area.  Listen in as we discuss UV index and sunscreens.  We also discussed sunscreen safety.  The FDA announced that the mineral sunscreens are the only uniformly safe sunscreens.
