Episode Description: In this talk, Matthew Kozan Palevsky discusses the characteristics of the Bodhisattva archetype. Kozan says, “A Bodhisattva is a being who is dedicated to relieving the suffering of the world.” Avalokitesvara and Manjusri are two of the most well-known archetypes who embody the notion of compassionate action in the world. Avalokitesvara, for example, has eleven heads which prevent her from turning away from the suffering in the world. Kozan’s inspirational talk includes everyday stories of people who might be considered to embody the Bodhisattva ideal, and it covers different themes, which include altruism, leaning into pain, and living your truth.”
