Film Review: Florida State Offense vs Miami (FL) Defense

Although the narrative coming into the game was that Miami would win this game on the line of scrimmage, the Florida State offensive line more than held their own against the Hurricane front. Film Review: Miami (FL) Offense vs FSU Defense

On a closer examination of the Florida State vs. Miami game, a tip of the cap is due to Miami offensive coordinator Shannon Dawson, who had an excellent game plan against Tony White’s Florida State defense. Together with a few successful shot plays, this approach was enough for a Miami team that is used to being able to win on the line of scrimmage but was mostly stalemated by the FSU defensive front. An efficient first half from Carson Beck put the Canes ahead against an FSU team not built to come from behind, and the Canes controlled the game—despite being mostly neutralized on the line of scrimmage—from there.
