Why Do Women Leave STEM Careers?

Category: Government & Organizations
Duration: 0
Publish Date: 2017-12-14 14:00:00
Description: For years we’ve been hearing about efforts to get more women to enter the STEM fields – Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. And while there are some encouraging signs that more females are becoming engineers, those gains have been offset by a steady exodus of women from the profession. On this edition of UWM Today, we’re going to find out why. Two UWM researchers have interviewed thousands of engineers around the country – both women and men - and what they learned may surprise you. We welcome Nadya Fouad, UWM Distinguished Professor of Educational Psychology in UWM’s School of Education, and Romila Singh, associate professor of Organizations & Strategic Management in the Lubar School of Business.
