500 years ago, Martin Luther published his famous 95 Theses, which some say triggered the start of the Reformation. It was a turning point in world history with lessons that may offer us a better understanding of the world we live in today. On this edition of UWM Today , our guest is an internationally recognized scholar who is an expert on early modern Europe, and so much more. Merry Wiesner-Hanks, a Distinguished Professor in UW-Milwaukee’s History department, recently appeared on a PBS special about Martin Luther . Merry was also editor in chief of the recently completed nine volume Cambridge World History. This year she begins serving as president of the World History Association. |
