Convicted of the murder of Benjamin Pitzel and suspected of as many as 200 murders carried out in his Chicago "Castle," H.H. Holmes was sentenced to be hanged on May 7, 1896. While awaiting execution, he wrote out a 10,000 word confession by hand, admitting to 27 murders, that was published in newspapers around the country. In this episode of True Crime Historian, Richard O Jones reads passages from that confession, detailing the horror of some of his most brutal crimes.
