Richard Trenton Chase was a troubled youth who grew up to be a troubled man. He was obsessed with blood and would routinely kill innocent animals to satisfy his sick obsession. But at some point the killing of animals was not enough for Richard Chase. He would become a serial killer, turn his murderous attention to humans, and ultimately earn the ominous nickname "The Vampire of Sacramento".
