Elmer Crawford as never been found, but clues inside the house pointed to the fact that the murders occurred in the home. Police theorized that Elmer killed his entire family and then loaded them into the car and caused it to plunge into the gorge. A coroner's inquest later determined that he was responsible for the deaths of his family members.
