	Description:		For as long as I can remember, I’ve been told that I need to “follow Jesus.” It sounds good and right, but what does it mean? How do you practically follow someone you cannot physically see? And so, over time I just settled for believing in Him. I would go to church, sit in the stands and cheer real loud for Jesus. In essence, I was a fan of Jesus, but not really a follower. It happens easily. To tell you the truth, there are seasons of my life in which I’ve been a sincere and joyful follower of Jesus Christ, but far too often, I’ve just been a fan. I say the right things, wear the right things, and do the right things, but it changes very little about my priorities and the way I live. In the book of James, this mentality is confronted head on and called out for what it is – empty religion. James challenges us to authenticate our faith by radical living. It’s summed up well in 2:14, “What good is it if you say you have faith but don't show it by your actions? Can that kind of faith save anyone?”
