Description:

A trick question. Is fiberglass RV siding better than aluminum siding? It’s a trick question because the answer is a big IT DEPENDS.

Laminated Fiberglass Sides

Laminated fiberglass definitely has some advantages. It’s more aerodynamic, so your fuel economy will be better. It also helps create a lighter weight trailer. And let’s face it, it really looks sharp.

Aluminum Sided Stick Trailers

They’ve been building these for decades. They’re tough, less expensive and have been getting the job done for generations. Although not quite as light, they aren’t all tanks either.

Three Things To Consider

  1. Bang for the buck, and your budget.
  2. Are you willing to inspect it regularly, and maintain it?
  3. How much are you going to use it?

A big thank you to Dan, the service manager at Van Boxtel RV for taking the time to talk with me about warranties, servicing your RV and the importance of semiannual inspections.

Thunder Over Louisville

A listener mentioned getting reservations to camp at this year’s Thunder Over Louisville. That leads us to ask the obvious question, What is Thunder Over Louisville? In searching for answers we found several events starting with Thunder in, on and around. It all revolves around 2 weeks of festivities that lead up to the Kentucky Derby.

Other show notes

  • We revisited GoeatsMilkStuff.com so Kris could put in her two cents worth. Great stuff.
  • The many uses of bungee cords, most of them wrong.
  • Bad RV ads
