Camping toys for kids

Family memories that last a lifetime start around the campfire.

Camping season is off and running, but the nights can still be chilly. Higher altitudes and northern parts of the country can easily see nighttime temperatures below freezing well into the summer months. Be sure to bring along extra blankets, sleeping bags and clothing to keep everyone toasty through the night

Camping Toys For Kids

We did this when our kids were small. Don’s family does the same today. Have a separate set of toys for camping. You don’t need to spend a lot of money on this one, but have things they don’t get to play with at home. This list will give you a few ideas.

  • Squirt Guns
  • Nerf toys
  • Velcro ball and catch pads
  • Sand buckets and shovels
  • Swim noodles Kid’s binoculars
  • Flash lights
  • Sticker books
  • Coloring books, crayons, markers
  • Dedicated toy storage area or container

Camping and Buying a Home

As we’ve mentioned on the podcast, Kris and I are in the process of finding and buying a home. The reality is that home shopping has really cut into our camping and podcasting time. The great news is that we’ve finally found a great place. Many of you have been here before. You know what our next couple of months will be like.

The home isn’t new, and it will need work before we move in. The short of it is that our camping schedule will be limited over the summer. The good part is that it will free up our weekends once we’re in and settled.
