SwanCon is a science-fiction convention that is held across the 2010 Easter break at the Four Seasons hotel in Perth, Western Australia. Scott Sigler was a guest on several panels and made presentations, such as the pitfalls of publishing, his expertise in science fiction and horror genres and advice for budding authors. Scott's works combine many genres, including science fiction, horror and thriller. His second major published novel, Contagious, made the New York Times best seller list. Its precursor, Infected, has been optioned as a motion picture production. Scott was also responsible for releasing the world's first podcast-only novel, Earthcore. All of his stories are freely available to listen to as audiobooks in serialised form. Scott's re-release of his novel, Ancestor, was available at the convention - at the same time, 'The Starter' was released during his time here and has already hit nearly 1000 copies sold! We talk about science, fiction, skepticism and literacy just as the convention wrapped up for this year.
