Before I headed to #QEDCon, I had a little time at Singapore's Changi Airport. It's my favorite airport and on Thursday, 3rd February, I arrived just in time for some celebrations!
You can see the koala I was taking for Janis Bennion at QEDCon and spot me at the very end, running off to find my gate to leave. :)
Lunar New Year is the most important festival celerated by Chinese communities in Singapore and other parts of the world. To the Chinese, the Lunar New Year symbolises a fresh start to a new year and one's life, bringing with it new hopes for happiness and prosperity for the coming year. Each lunar new year is associated with one of the 12 chinese zodiac animals - in 2011, it is the Year of the Rabbit. The rabbit symbolises character traits such as creativity, compassion and sensitivity. 'Rabbits' are friendy, outgoing, and prefer the company of others. They also prefer to avoid conflicts in confrontational situations. |
