The first interview is with Alexia Sinclair, about her work and that of a range of other artists, writers and more world-wide, who have all contributed to the Gates Foundation’s The Art Of Saving A Life. Alexia Sinclair's contribution is a photograph; an artistic interpretation of Dr Edward Jenner in 1796. The Gates Foundation, headed by Melinda and Bill Gates, commissioned over three dozen works of art from artists, writers and film-makers from around the globe. The hope is that the works will inspire people to think – and act – on how important vaccines are to modern health systems. Luke Ryan, whose book A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Chemo was released last year, is bringing his live show is coming to the Fringe World festival in Perth.   A year-long regimen of chemotherapy and radiotherapy wasn’t quite what comedian and freelance writer Luke Ryan had in mind when he turned twenty-two. Especially since he already went through the same experience when he was eleven. There was one way to deal with it – comedy. His book, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To Chemo is a warm-hearted and hilarious memoir on being marked by cancer – but not being defined by it.
