Hi MTA Team,
I have been listening to the podcast for many episodes, I started listening when Chris A was co-host with Gareth, and I've pretty much listened to all the episodes to about 180, and now listening to the latest ones as they come out.
I like the retro show too, as I have a long standing interest in home computers from the 70s / 80s, LED calculators and pretty much anything Sinclair related. Nice to see someone remembers the G7000 line of machines, as it wasn't a terribly popular machine. Fully agree with the comments about the CBM Plus4, a shocking machine.
I have around ~200 machines, and the list of stuff I have is below, as Gareth was interested. I have multiples of some machines, like the BBC, where I obtained a whole BBC network of around 10 machines in one hit, from a skip.
@gareth : I have several boxed G7000s plus maybe some unboxed, a couple of G7200s, at least one G7400 and the chess computer. I also have around 40 games, including the 3 marvellous board games they did. They are a work of art. The later games have an enhanced mode, denoted by a '+', which when run on a G7400, give slightly better graphics. These are pretty difficult to find, and the higher the number the rarer.
The G7200 was never sold in this country, to my knowledge, and the two I have came from Holland and France. You discussed the Odyssey, and you are correct that the O^2 was the G7000. There was an original Odyssey sold in the UK, not just the states, from around '73, which is near impossible to find (and I don't have one).
Keep up the good work, both for the Retro and Mobile shows.
