Description:

UW-La Crosse senior offensive lineman Dain Walter was named first-team All-American on Monday by D3Football, while teammate Michael Stack earned honorable mention.

This is the third award this season for Walter, who was named first team All-American by the American Football Coaches Association and second team by the Associated Press.

For the senior Stack, it’s his second honor of the season — and fourth of his career — after being named third team by the AP.

Walter started all 11 games this season at left tackle while not allowing a sack. He helped UW-L average 29.5 points on 386.1 yards per game — 136.5 rushing and 249.6 passing.

Stack finished 38-of-39 in extra-points and 9 of 13 on field goals on the year.

His lone miss was the only one of his career. Stack went 134-of-135 on extra points in four years. The one miss came on a block in the 9-7 playoff win against Hope in the second-last game of his career. He nailed a 25-yard field goal later in the game that proved to be the difference.

Stack finished second in school history in extra points made and attempted, and tied for third in UW-L history with 29 career field goals made.

Stack, was a 2025 semifinalist for the Fred Mitchell Award, given to the nation’s top collegiate placekicker.

UW-L, ranked 13th in the final D3football poll, finished 8-3 in 2025, making their fifth consecutive NCAA playoffs.
