Description:

After a one-year absence, the Wisconsin volleyball team is headed back to the Final Four.

The third-seeded Badgers got there with an upset of top-seeded Texas on Sunday, taking the Longhorns down on their own floor in four sets. It will be the program’s seventh trip to the final weekend of the season and its fifth in the last seven years.

Wisconsin, which got swept by Texas early in the season in Madison, came out firing, taking the first two sets (25-21, 25-22). After the Longhorns grabbed the third set and built momentum with a 5-1 lead in the fourth, the Badgers rallied, outscoring them 24-14 the rest of the way.

Mimi Colyer turned in a great performance, leading Wisconsin with 23 kills, while Una Vajagic added 15 and Carter Booth had 11. Charlie Fuerbringer had 57 assists on the night. Grace Egan finished with nine kills and nine digs.

The Badgers will now move on to take on SEC champion Kentucky on Thursday in Kansas City. The Wildcats swept Creighton on Saturday to punch its ticket. The other game will feature Pittsburgh and Texas A&M, with the latter earning its way with an upset of unbeaten Nebraska.
