I’m going to tell you right from the start that working hard will give you good results. You already know that. I will also tell you that working smart will give you good results as well. I’m guessing you know that as well. What you may not realize however is that there is a much better option than either of those strategy and that option is the one I discuss in this week’s episode of The SwimBrain Podcast.
The goal in this episode is to show you that either working hard or working smart is a good training strategy, and good training strategies produce good swimmers. So if you want to be a good swimmer the go ahead and train as hard as you can or as smart as you can.
If however, you are not interested being more than good, that is, you want to be a great swimmer then you should listen to this episode. I this episode I’ll show you:
- The question of working hard or smart is a false choice and many swimmers choose wrong
- A better training strategy that yields faster and longer lasting results
- A few examples that you can use in your next practice to begin seeing results

After you’re done listening I encourage you to apply this method to your swimming and see how many ways you can come up with to simultaneously hard and smart at the same time. This is how you will get 10x as much out of every practice. Always ask yourself at every practice – what can I work hard on right now?
