In 1957, the Russians won the space race when they launched their satellite, Sputnik.
In 2020, they claimed they'd won a different race, launching the first mass vaccination program against COVID-19, which they named Sputnik V.
Initially, scientists were sceptical, not least because the Russians hadn't published any data about the jab, and because their rollout looked suspiciously fast.
But now that the data is in, it turns out Sputnik V looks pretty good.
So how does it measure up to Australia's options, as more and more vaccine-resistant COVID-19 strains emerge?
