Collingwood is one of Australia's biggest, oldest and richest sporting clubs, and now it's become known for something else: a history of "distinct and egregious" racism.

But the club's President Eddie McGuire also bungled the response, saying the release of the report made him "proud".
So how did Collingwood get to this point?
And what does its racism scandal say about the AFL and Australia more broadly?
