Often when there’s a COVID-19 scare at a business, school or workplace, we hear about the premises being "closed for deep cleaning".
It’s one of those expressions that have become almost reflexive during this pandemic - along with "superspreaders", "contact-tracing" and "social distancing".
But what exactly is a "deep clean"?
And does it really make a difference?
