Slavery didn't just happen in the US and Britain.
In Australia, the practice is rarely described in those terms, or at all, but a number of Australian industries relied on tens of thousands of slaves over the course of more than a century.
That history is right now getting its best airing in a long time.
It's been brought about by the Prime Minister Scott Morrison remarking that there was no slavery in Australia.
It's a comment he's since clarified, and apologised for.
Today, we're taking a closer look at a little known chapter of Australia's history that's rarely spoken about.
