It's not exactly news to say the Rupert Murdoch's media empire has a conservative tilt, but lately it's faced some pushback.
Just last week the Labor leader Bill Shorten called out the Daily Telegraph over what he saw as an unfair attack on his mother, and his honesty in telling her story.
Politicians, members of the public, and even some of NewsCorp's own journalists got in line behind him, to say they thought it was over the top.
So how big a deal is that?
Could this be a sign that NewsCorp's power is starting to fade? Or is it just a blip?
