In this episode I sit down with glitching, a transgender person who is so much more than that: he is a friend, a partner to some amazing peeps, and an all around fantastic human being!
We are going to explore his point of view, discuss some of the societal barriers faced by transgender people, and the challenges faced in the healthcare system. glitching will be sharing his journey and listing some of the community resources available to people who want to learn more about transgender people. We will cover pronouns, how it feels to be misgendered, and how cis-gender people can be better allies. I'm really interested in what he has to say; the concept of transgender, agender, or non-binary identities is something new in healthcare and as a healthcare professional I want to make sure that everyone feels safe and supported when they are in my care.
I will be keeping my peace a little more this episode, I want this to be an opportunity for a transgender person to speak on behalf of transgender people, because this is definitely an opportunity for cis-gender people to listen.
Join me this Monday May 9th at 7pm on Spreaker.com and join the discussion! If you can't listen to us live, the show will be available anytime online and also as a podcast! Links up soon!! :-D |
