Description: SHOW NOTES INTRODUCING KENDALL PAWLOWSKI! Today's guest, Kendall Pawlowski, was a state proficiency winner and state star farmer.  This all started on the day that he found a bunch of FFA medals in his dad's closet. It is funny how something can trigger a passion or desire in each and all of us.  For Kendall, it was finding his dad's medals and then asking him about his experience in the FFA.  This put Kendall on the path to farming for himself and raising cattle and even ducks. He started out growing wheat because that was where they were at in their crop rotation.  Kendall says that his favorite part of farming is the crops.  However, his dad taught him to diversify in order to hedge against low grain and other commodity prices.  Kendall has continued to raise livestock so that if he needs cash flow, he has something that he can sell right then. Ironically, Kendall's favorite part of raising crops is the unpredictability.  Solving problems and using the new technology that allows him to farm effectively enhances his enjoyment of crop farming. REASONS TO DONATE TO FFA: Only 2% of Americans grow and raise most of the food and livestock consumed by the other 98% as well as the rest of the world.  FFA is providing the needed education, training and resources to Americans that will carry that torch forward and insure that America continues to have inexpensive, quality food. Rural Communities will rely on entrepreneurship in the future for population growth and job creation.  The FFA is a major catalyst to that entrepreneurial growth. Farmers, ranchers and those working in agriculture give the rest of America incredible amounts of freedom because the search for food is as simple as going to the grocery store: "Because American farmers are able to provide for so many of us, they give more and more of us the freedom to pursue goals and livelihoods beyond growing the food we need to survive."
