KEY IDEAS:
Sometimes I get so focused on business ideas, that I forget that there are other things out there than just making money. Now, I am not changing everything I have been talking about for the past 4 years and abandoning the need to make money. For most of us we need our small businesses to make money so that they are sustainable in the long run, and we can keep providing whatever it is we do to the people that we serve.
Our guest today has a different take on this, and I cannot argue with him one bit. Roger Followell has to be the most selfless guest that we have had on this show. In combination with this brother he teaches people how to do things primitively every weekend. This includes everything from butchering a hog to rendering lard to hunting and gardening.
Roger and his brother were inspired by an older gentleman who had fought for the United States in Vietnam named RM. Today they carry forward his legacy by teaching people these skills and calling their operation RM Primitive. Roger gets a lot of intrinsic reward out of doing what he does on the weekends, when his week of work is completed.
And he knows he is making a difference. Roger is seeing people move into his area of Kentucky from as far north as Detroit. These folks want to learn more about being self-sufficient, and Roger and his brother are ready and willing to teach them.

ADVICE FROM ROGER:
GOD: You have to trust in God. Ultimately, he is the only one that is going to see you through.
SLOW: Start off slow. You will do better and learn more if you are not in a rush.
FAITH: It is going to work. Keep at it, and eventually you will get it right.
LIVE: Don't get so caught up in your daily life that you forget to live.
