Description: SHOW NOTES INTRODUCING LOGAN WOLTER! As a parent of an 11 year old girl, we are constantly faced with opportunities for youth activities: soccer, basketball, softball, band, choir, orchestra.......and 4H. I am embarrassed to say that we let Hattie participate in every activity I have listed there.  Thankfully, they all come in different seasons so it is not too overwhelming.   The most important of these is 4H. Many a great FFA story has begun here. This particular activity has had the most impact on Hattie so far.  She has learned responsibility, public speaking and business skills.  This has led her to understand money better and to earn a position in student government.  Autumm and I believe this is the start of a great future for Hattie. Our guest today, Logan Wolter, also started in the 4H, and he is the proof of what we are hoping for, for Hattie.  He began with two heifer calves and started breeding them.  He has retained all of his heifers, and now he has grown his herd size to something formidable.  Along the way, as he earned more farming responsibilities he started his own custom haying business.  Logan is a great example of how this can snowball in the right direction. REASONS TO DONATE TO FFA: Only 2% of Americans grow and raise most of the food and livestock consumed by the other 98% as well as the rest of the world.  FFA is providing the needed education, training and resources to Americans that will carry that torch forward and insure that America continues to have inexpensive, quality food. Rural Communities will rely on entrepreneurship in the future for population growth and job creation.  The FFA is a major catalyst to that entrepreneurial growth. Farmers, ranchers and those working in agriculture give the rest of America incredible amounts of freedom because the search for food is as simple as going to the grocery store: "Because American farmers are able to provide for so many of us, they give more and more of us the freedom to pursue goals and livelihoods beyond growing the food we need to survive."
