Description: SHOW NOTES INTRODUCING SETH HILFIKER! Our guest today saw a need that needed to be filled, and he continues to fill it.  Seth Hilfiker lives right on the Mexico border in Southern California.  There is a lot of farming that goes on in his area, but livestock production is not as highly represented. Regardless of the level of livestock production there are several people in the area interested in showing high quality goats, sheep, pigs, etc.  Seth noticed this and started a business going out and finding these show animals for them, purchasing them and bringing them back to the area. Seth conducts this business in two ways.  He either purchases the animals, speculating they will sell or he goes and picks up animals that other people have already chosen.  He has gone as far as Texas to do this, and he is planning on going to college in either Texas or Oklahoma to expand his network in this business and expand it. REASONS TO DONATE TO FFA: Only 2% of Americans grow and raise most of the food and livestock consumed by the other 98% as well as the rest of the world.  FFA is providing the needed education, training and resources to Americans that will carry that torch forward and insure that America continues to have inexpensive, quality food. Rural Communities will rely on entrepreneurship in the future for population growth and job creation.  The FFA is a major catalyst to that entrepreneurial growth. Farmers, ranchers and those working in agriculture give the rest of America incredible amounts of freedom because the search for food is as simple as going to the grocery store: "Because American farmers are able to provide for so many of us, they give more and more of us the freedom to pursue goals and livelihoods beyond growing the food we need to survive."
