SHOW NOTES
KEY IDEAS:
Today’s interview features a business that really provides an opportunity for the first time entrepreneur who would like to work in agriculture, especially with livestock. Chad Steenhoek is coming on the show to talk about the creation of his goat grazing business, “Goats On The Go”. He will talk about the challenges of weed mitigation with goats, and some tips for working in urban areas.
Chad will also discuss how “Goats On The Go” turned into an affiliate based company in which there are people all over the United States operating this business under this business name. He will talk about the startup costs of becoming an affiliate, and the benefits to doing so. And, he will discuss the potential earnings for someone looking to generate revenue with their goats and through agricultural entrepreneurship.
ADVICE FROM CHAD:
REALISTIC – Be realistic with yourself about your costs when you are starting up
HONEST – Be honest with yourself about your work ethic and whether or not you can do this type of work. It can be demanding and difficult.
ANIMALS – Make sure to be honest with yourself about how much you enjoy being around animals. If you don’t like being around livestock and get joy from that, this is probably not the business for you.
BEST ADVICE CHAD HAS RECEIVED:
“If you lie to yourself, you won’t ever know who you really are”
PERSONAL HABIT THAT HELPS CHAD SUCCEED:
Chad really enjoys talking with people, and in any business this is an asset.
