This is a business that he started when he recognized that people needed help finding the right parts for their planters. This was an area that Brian had specific expertise in and a passion for. He started getting parts that people needed, giving advice to people on what to use and then selling the parts from his farm. Soon, this business grew and developed. Today Brian has a great website and is selling parts all over the country. And to his surprise, his passion for farming is now equaled by his passion for running his business. This is a phenomena that I have experienced as well as I developed as an entrepreneur. ADVICE FROM BRIAN: KNOWLEDGE: Pick a business that you have knowledge in and passion for. This will get you through the hard times of getting started and being sustainable. AREA: What does your area need? Is there a business you could start that you know about and like that is needed there? If so, you have a winning combination. BEST BUSINESS ADVICE: The best business advice that Brian has ever received is to either work on straight commission or work for yourself. Doing this gives you the motivation to work your hardest and do your best.
