Today I get to answer a listener question coming out of Canada.  This is one of my favorite things to do as I really get to share my knowledge.  For this question, we are dealing with career choices, not necessarily entrepreneurship.  But I was happy to provide my $.02 anyway…

What Is The Best Opportunity?

Our listener today wants to know what career path is going to give him the best opportunity to eventually find himself have his own cattle and hay operation.  This is a tough question to answer as there are so many variables and information that I do not have.

Ultimately, I like the idea of finding yourself in a job that you like and are fired up about.  I believe that if you like what you are doing you will excel.  Therefore, the money will find you.  Our listener’s path is similar to the one that I took, so I had a lot of thoughts about what he could do.

With him being from Canada, he might have a few advantages that those of us in the U.S. do not have.  He is married and has a one year old son, so they need to be taken care of while he pursues this dream.  But if his health care and tuition is taken care of based on living in Canada he really has a lot of advantages going into this.  I really did not see a reason to not pursue this as there might be a drop in standard of living during this time, but food, shelter, clothing, and healthcare should be easy enough to take care of.

I’ll be looking forward to hearing what path Eric takes on this issue.
