	Description:		SHOW NOTES KEY IDEAS: Today we get way out to the far stretches of North America! Lindsay Oehlke is coming to us from Prince Edward Island in Canada. Lindsay definitely lives our motto of “lifestyle business”. She sets up her work and business schedules to allow herself to move around the world with the seasons. She prefers seasonal work that allows her to escape the cold northern winter to a more tropical and warm location during the colder months. Lindsay’s father farms moths on Prince Edward Island and has the largest silk moth website in the world. And, it was on one of Lindsay’s winter trips to Costa Rica that she discovered that people were making jewelry out of butterfly wings. This sparked an idea in Lindsay, and she started importing butterfly wings to her home in Canada. Lindsay started making earrings from the butterfly wings that were sent to her. She had found out that otherwise these dead butterflies were just destroyed, so she saw an option to recycle their wings. Lindsay started wearing the earrings around, and people started asking about them and wanting to purchase them. This led to the birth of Lindsay’s business. She realized that she could do the same with the wings of the silk moth’s that her dad was breeding. She started doing that in addition to the butterflies. At that point her business, Morph, was born. Now Lindsay sells her earrings on Etsy, and enjoys this side business taking advantage of her artistic eye and what other people might see as waste. ADVICE FROM LINDSAY: GO FOR IT: That piece of advice makes sense on its own. But really, what is stopping you? If you have an idea, try it out and find out how valid it really is. NO: Lindsay says to really determine which “no” you are hearing? When you are pursuing an opportunity and you are told “no”, is it a hard or soft “no”. If it is soft, you should keep pursuing the opportunity. START: This is always a popular piece of advice and a very valid one. If you have an idea, start! Stop researching and just get going. But do it in a way that will allow a failure to happen without being a catastrophe. BEST ADVICE THAT LINDSAY HAS RECEIVED: Do not compare yourself to other people. That never turns out well. PERSONAL HABIT: Lindsay is very inquisitive and thorough in her work. This is what led her to ask about the butterflies in Costa Rica and then to go all the way to receiving permits to import them through the Canadian government.
