Description: SHOW NOTES INTRODUCING ADAM EICHACHER! Our guest today is Adam Eichacher, one of four students in the United States nominated as the 2018 Star Farmer through the National FFA!  Adam has a humble attitude and a lot of wisdom for a young man his age.  He is majoring in agricultural science at South Dakota State University and wants to return to his families farm in Salem, South Dakota when he graduates. Adam is very active in row crops as well raising Simmental Cattle.  He is so motivated to get back and get to farming that he has pushed his graduation up to December of this year so he can get back for calving season. Adam cites a lot of wisdom from his grandfather throughout he episode, and it is obvious that he has paid attention to his elders and other farmers during his formative years.  Adam is involved in some test trials and internships.  He is definitely making the most of his time in college before he returns to the farm. REASONS TO DONATE TO FFA: Only 2% of Americans grow and raise most of the food and livestock consumed by the other 98% as well as the rest of the world.  FFA is providing the needed education, training and resources to Americans that will carry that torch forward and insure that America continues to have inexpensive, quality food. Rural Communities will rely on entrepreneurship in the future for population growth and job creation.  The FFA is a major catalyst to that entrepreneurial growth. Farmers, ranchers and those working in agriculture give the rest of America incredible amounts of freedom because the search for food is as simple as going to the grocery store: "Because American farmers are able to provide for so many of us, they give more and more of us the freedom to pursue goals and livelihoods beyond growing the food we need to survive."
