Falade is the author of the novels “Black Cloud Rising” and “The New Internationals,” and the nonfiction work “Fire on the Beach: Recovering the Lost Story of Richard Etheridge and the Pea Island Lifesavers.” He’s been publishing fiction and nonfiction in The New Yorker since 2020.
