Short Takes 3: What's Up, Docs!

Category: TV & Film
Duration: 00:31:19
Publish Date: 2018-04-27 06:10:00
Description:

Before we tackle the classic slice-of-filmmaking-life documentary American Movie, Nick and Chris take a few minutes to revisit some of the non-fiction films they've enjoyed over the years and, in turn, consider why documentaries are too often overlooked by movie fans. We also discuss the recent wave of small-screen miniseries like Making a Murderer and Wild, Wild Country, which have featured some of the most memorable -- and widely-seen -- documentary filmmaking in recent memory. And, of course, Oliver Stone and Francis Ford Coppola get brought up, too, because we just can't seem to leave those guys out of anything. Enjoy this (slightly) more bite-sized episode, and join us next week for a glimpse into the life of the one-of-a-kind Mark Borchardt.
