Description: West Virginia University’s College of Law is hosting a forum this evening to discuss marriage equality in West Virginia. Evan Wolfson is the featured guest at Tuesday's event. Evan Wolfson is the founder and President of Freedom to Marry, a nation-wide campaign to end the exclusion of same-sex couples from marriage. Currently, the state of West Virginia makes no allowances for same-sex couples to be wed. “Couples who live here who get married in the 17 states that do have the freedom to marry can come back home and they will be respected by the federal government. But West Virginia continues to discriminate,” Wolfson says. Wolfson says that discrimination is currently being challenged by a lawsuit brought by Lambda Legal on behalf of three couples within the state.
