The share of the world living under democracy (where people vote for
their leaders) has dropped to 29% down from 54% back in the year
2000. That’s the lowest number since roughly 1950, as
monitored by Freedom House. But, why did freedoms begin
disappearing from the earth somewhere around the year 2006? After
1,000 years, the heritage of freedom brought to the world by the
Christianized West is finally disappearing. We discuss the various
types of economic and political freedoms, and provide a strata of
priority freedoms for which we still need to fight.
