A study conducted by University of Basel and Rockefeller University looking at thousands of mitochondrial DNA from various animal species has found that no species is older than 200,000 years old. The vast majority of animal life was determined to be about the same age! But, why did such a tenuous scientific hypothesis attract such an enthusiastic reception from 99% of the scientific community? What went wrong?
