From booking holidays to having a roof over your head, there’s often an additional cost of doing life alone. Research shows that, for people aged 25 to 49, those who are single spend 14% more than their coupled counterparts. It has been dubbed the ‘singles tax’, and while it is gaining more traction in the mainstream, lowering costs for the partnerless is not an easy task.
