This week on the Forum, a special program for Women’s Month features two people reading from the book they wrote about Norma Paulus – the first woman elected to public office in Oregon. She served as a legislator, superintendent of public education, and Oregon secretary of state, and crafted a land-use planning process that we still use today, as well as a lot of consumer legislation and some big advances in rights for women in the state. They read some interesting and illuminating stories about her battles and experience, in “The Only Woman in the Room” For more upcoming programs in the Capital Speaker Series, check out the events page at http://oregoncapitolfoundation.org/ |
