Warm-water fish like bass, bluegill, crappie, and catfish are not native to the Northwest, but they’re here and doing well. They’ve found popularity with anglers, and the good news is that they are NOT the kind of invasive species that takes over and becomes a big problem. In this week’s Forum, Gary Galovich of Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife looks at the challenges of fish management and the opportunities they provide.
