Romero helped inspire what zombie movies are today and it's clear that the way this film portrayed a macro view of a zombie apocalypse set the stage for how films are utilizing survivor struggles in a post-apocalyptic world today. This was our first time watching the movie and although we had some mixed reviews, we all agreed the film is influential.
